Lighting upgrade to Pitch 1 coming from a $255k Council grant!

At the season launch, President Tom Pausak announced the club’s application for a $255,000 Council grant for a lighting upgrade on Pitch 1 was successful.

On hand for the announcement were the Deputy Mayor Cr Anthony Aitken and Cr Eddy Kontelj with our Grants Manager Kruno Madjeric and the board.

We look forward to NPL night football on Pitch 1 in our future!

Thanks to the City of Greater Geelong and Geelong Councillors for the wonderful support!

Well done to all those involved to get this great win!

We are looking for Juniors & Miniroos level coaches

North, we have a problem. It’s a good problem, but we need some help nonetheless.

Due to big growth in numbers at Juniors & Miniroos level (👏) we need additional coaches at almost every age group.

There is no need to have coached previously; our committee, network of experienced coaches, and Junior Technical Director will guide & assist you.

Training will be Weds & Fri evening at this stage; the season runs from April-August.

We would dearly love to engage some eager North parents or supporters to help us nurture our Next Gen Warriors 🛡️

Club gets accreditation in the Game Changer program

Throughout the year a crew of dedicated club volunteers have been working towards achieving our first level of club accreditation in the Game Changer program.

We’re delighted to have been awarded our 1-star certificate in recognition of our progress and dedication towards embedding and promoting women’s football.

Huge thanks to Josip Zilic, Stipe Kump & Denis Vodopic for attending workshops, documenting activities and engaging our community.

Pitch 2 and 3 get some TLC

The Elcho Park maintenance program continues!

A few days ago, James Pettit and Max were at Elcho with the heavy machinery, fertilising and levelling pitch 2 and 3 in preparation for a big year of football at North.

175 tonnes of premium turf sand, along with a generous amount of donated lime, gypsum and fertiliser was carefully groomed into place.

Thanks to our team of selfless volunteers for making our club shine on a shoestring budget

New board formed at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023

The North Geelong Warriors Football Club held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 11 October.

The new reporting year will see a different configuration of faces heading the club, with Tom Pausak taking over from Tom Trupkovic as President. Aaron Bailey takes on additional responsibility as Vice President; Andela Cicak joins as Treasurer, and Mary Ljubicic will remain in the Secretary position. Stipe Kump joins as the Female Football Operations Manager whilst Vlado Dzajkic takes on a general board role.

Our whole-hearted thanks are given to retiring board members Tom Trupkovic, Josip Zilic, Rosemary Zilic, Ivica Volarevic, Andro Jurkovic, Maria Spehar and Anne-Marie Simic. We know that volunteers do not necessarily have time, but they have passion to give and each of our retiring board members has given to this club in spades.

The assembled members heard football operations reports from Andro Jurkovic, Aaron Bailey, Maria Spehar, Anne-Marie Simic and Tom Pausak. Kruno Madjeric spoke to grants and infrastructure before a comprehensive written financial report was tabled and explained by Rose Zilic.

Outgoing President Tom Trupkovic delivered his final address as President, speaking of the numerous achievements of the club on and off the pitch, and his belief that we are well-positioned for success in the future. These thoughts were echoed by Tom Pausak in his first speech as President when he said “the future is bright at North.”

The board for 2023-24 are:

Tom Pausak (President)
Aaron Bailey (Vice President)
Mary Ljubicic (Secretary)
Andjela Cicak (Treasurer)
Stipe Kump (Football Operations – Female Football)
Vlado Dzajkic (General Board Member)
