Former North Junior Matthew Spiranovic retires

At North Geelong Warriors we are proud of all our players and the journeys that the game takes them on.

Recently we all saw in the news that Matthew Spiranovic a North Geelong Warriors junior has decided to call it a day wrapping up his illustrious football careers as a player.

We wish Matthew all the very best and thank him and his family for numerous years of service to the club, community and the sport.

Matthew’s journey began at a young age with North Geelong Warriors seeing him impress as a teenager which led North Geelong first team selection ahead of young Socceroos call up.

His progress quickly resulted in an amazing journey with moves to Melbourne Victory, Nurnberg, Urawa Reds, Al-Arabi, Western Sydney Wanderers, Hangzhou Greentown, Perth Glory and returning to Melbourne Victory.

Winner of a DFB Pokal, J League Runner Up, A League Premiership, Asian Champions League winner, AFC Asian Cup winner and Australia Cup winner.

Put your hands together for a great player and terrific person.
