North Geelong Warriors

LATEST UPDATE – Board addresses concerns about Coronavirus currently affecting our community

LIKE the entire football community, the North Geelong Warriors is deeply concerned about the impact of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) on the entire Australian community as well as how it will impact on football around Victoria and Australia...

All decisions made by the club will be guided by two things:

  1. Advice from the Australian and Victorian governments; and
  2. Advice from Football Victoria (and FFA).

By adhering to these standards, we will ensure that we act in line with the best possible advice and take the most sensible and balanced approach.

The Warriors will ensure that should football continue through this period, government protocols and FV directives will be followed (for example, limiting crowds to 500 people, social distancing and/or not allowing recent arrivals from outside of Australia to matches). Further, all hygiene commitments as recommended by the government will be implemented to ensure it is appropriately managed.

These directives are changing at a rapid pace so it is impossible to provide ongoing advice on the myriad of impacts – other than to continue to share government and FV advice with you.

For now, until changed information from the government and FV, normal training and playing will continue.

For the avoidance of doubt, any and all players or parents who have been in contact with the Coronavirus should not attend any events, in line with government direction.
