North Geelong Warriors

CLUB STATEMENT – SOCIAL MEDIA TROLLING AND CYBERBULLYING

North Geelong Warriors strongly condemns the misuse and breach of social media standards particularly involving Cyberbullying.

It has become evident to the club in recent days that an issue we addressed previously has resurfaced.

The club will seek guidance from Victoria Police, the PFA and the E Safety Commissioner in dealing with these perpetrators and unlawful acts.

North Geelong Warriors FC has a Zero Tolerance policy(PDF) for these matters and strongly urge anyone who experiences similar unlawful acts or is aware of these acts occurring to immediately reach out to the E Safety Commissioner or Victoria Police

We encourage those involved in this recent issue to cease and desist from such behaviour and seek mediation to resolve their issues with each other away from the club’s and therefore any other social media channels.

North Geelong Warriors FC has a proud history and will continue to operate and focus on its core business- quality and professional football programs for its diverse community of players, coaches, sponsors, volunteers and loyal supporters. Everybody is welcome and encouraged to ‘play the game ‘ as it should, according to our global governing body FIFA simple rule and message- RESPECT!

We urge parents, guardians and families in general to approach the subject with their family members and ensure that if anyone is experiencing the unlawful behaviours on any platform to report it to the appropriate authority and remove themselves from those channels.
